The Braidwood Garlic Growers was Cooperative was formed in October 2017 with the support of the Australian Government’s Farming Together program. The Coop had its beginnings in 2012 when Bronwyn Richards of Wynlen House Village Farm gathered local garlic growers together to form an informal group to share knowledge and experience about growing garlic in the region. The group, known as the Braidwood Garlic Growers Group, won a 25th Anniversary Grant in 2014 from Landcare to “Grow the Garlic Growers” in the region and research and promote the use of sustainable farming practices in garlic growing. In 2017 the Braidwood Garlic Growers Group won a NSW LandCare award in the category Australian Government Innovation in Agriculture Land Management Award.
The Coop’s aim is to support its members to grow and sell top quality garlic and to focus on varieties that increase the availability of Australian garlic to the Australian consumer all year around.
The Coop is proud to work with producers of premium garlic products such as Hallstrom Co..
